I took over my father’s 70,000€ debt because he is disabled and was trapped with a very high interest rate he could never escape. He was denied refinancing due to his disability income, and I couldn’t watch him struggle alone.

I managed to get a lower rate, but the loan is still overwhelming. At 27, I’m doing everything I can to avoid becoming stuck in debt for years simply for helping my father. He has no idea that I took over the debt myself,  I told him I managed to get donations to help him, so he believes that’s the reason, and I would never take away the peace it has given him, even though I am the one struggling now.
