Dear fellow human beings,
In these difficult times, when Lebanon is affected by war and crises, our help is needed more than ever. The situation on the ground is alarming: more than 500,000 people are homeless, schools are being turned into emergency shelters, and many people are struggling to survive.
Our colleague Pauline Miller is deeply affected by current events in Lebanon, where some of her family lives. The once beautiful country has suffered decades of misery and war. Recent bombings have had a devastating impact on the civilian population: people are losing their homes, families are being torn apart, and particularly vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly and the sick are struggling to survive.
Pauline's father urgently tells her of the situation, “Last Friday's bombing shook many houses and people are sleeping in the streets - homeless and without food.” He also writes: “This war reminds me of the beginning of the civil war in April. 1975, when I sent you two to the airport, protected by soldiers, to save you from the war.
