Hi, my name is Jessi Gonzalez, I'm Clinton Young's sister. As many of you know, my brother was convicted of capital murder on October 15 and was given an automatic life sentence. I cannot go into the details but we have 30 days to file an appeal and we want to do everything we can to bring my brother home a third time. 

Clinton's retrial started on October 7. I have set throughout the entire retrial and I was shocked to see how witnesses “forgot” and “misremembered” crucial facts, how exculpatory evidence such as the gloves with DNA and GSR was not shown to the jury and how Clinton was not given an opportunity to defend himself. The jury did not know my brother had already spend 20 years on death row and that his first conviction was overturned because of gross prosecutorial misconduct. I was hoping my brother would have a fair chance this time to prove he is innocent, but I don't think he was given that.

My family is obviously devastated by this unjust outcome and we wish we could have spend more time with my brother. However, with the help of thousands of people from all over the world he was able to get out twice before. We will forever be grateful to everyone who has made that possible for us. Of course my family is doing everything we can to give my brother what he needs right now, but unfortunately this amount is too great to be carried just by us so we would like to ask you all to help us get Clinton home a third and final time. Although the Clinton Young Foundation was initially created to help my brother, the Foundation can not raise funds at this point due to legal reasons. Merel currently has had a different position with Clinton's legal team than she did when the Foundation raised money in 2021 and 2022. Because of her position with the team and trial, she cannot as an attorney raise money for other attorneys on appeal now.
