In de familie staat een symmetrische Gunther vleugelpiano. Momenteel staat die bij mijn grootmoeder.
Ik zou die heel graag restaureren zodat deze een nieuw leven bij mij kan krijgen, want piano is een van mijn passies. Ik speel al 11 jaar op een buffetpiano voor beginners, en ik zou graag overstappen op deze Gunther. 

Waarom? 

Symmetrische Gunthers zijn redelijk zeldzaam - geen enkele andere bouwer maakte ooit symmetrische vleugelpiano's- en het is nog een authentiek Belgisch product. Dit instrument verdient zeker een upgrade. 

De piano's van Gunther staan bekend als zeer kwalitatief. Voor de anekdote: de piano behoorde ooit toe aan mijn overgroot-nonkel, en is al vele generaties in de familie. Dit instrument heeft voor mij ook een heel speciale emotionele waarde.

Van deze restauratie wil ik graag mijn eigen, persoonlijk project maken. Daar is natuurlijk een beetje steun voor nodig.

Ik zou de piano willen laten restaureren bij iemand (in Gent) die alles nog zelf doet en de instrumenten niet naar Polen of andere lageloonlanden stuurt.

Interessant weetje: momenteel oefen ik stukken in van componisten uit dezelfde periode als dat van de productie van deze piano (+/- 1921). 

Als dit project klaar is ben ik van plan er eventueel een concert mee te organiseren, samen met vrienden die ook gepassioneerd zijn door muziek, waarop  iedereen die mij gesteund heeft hartelijk uitgenodigd is!

Ook zal ik, indien mogelijk, updates plaatsen van de restauratie met foto's. 

Het is natuurlijk mogelijk dat we de doel prijs niet halen. Dan zou ik gaan voor een basic restauratie (volledig binnenwerk), en verder sparen voor het buitenwerk. Indien de basic restauratie niet gehaald wordt,  geef ik het geld terug.

The family has a symmetrical Gunther grand piano. It is currently with my grandmother. I would very much like to restore it so that it can have a new life with me, because piano is one of my passions. In the meantime I have been playing on a beginner upright piano for 10-11 years and I would like to switch to this Gunther. Why? Symmetrical Gunthers are quite rare - no other builder ever made symmetrical grand pianos - and they are still an authentic Belgian product. This instrument certainly deserves an upgrade.

Gunther's pianos are known for being very qualitative. For the anecdote, the piano once belonged to my great-great-uncle, and it's been in the family for many generations. This instrument also has a very special emotional value for me.

I would like to make my own personal project of this restoration. Of course, that requires a little support.

I would like to have the piano restored by someone (in Ghent) who still does everything himself and does not send the instruments to Poland or other low-wage countries.

Interesting fact: I am currently practicing pieces by composers from the same period as that of the production of this piano (+/- 1921).

When this project is finished, I plan to possibly organize a concert with it, together with friends who are also passionate about music, to which everyone who has supported me is cordially invited!

I will also, if possible, post updates of the restoration with photos.

It is of course possible that we will not reach the target price. Then I would go for a basic restoration (complete interior), and save for the exterior. If the basic restoration is not achieved, I will refund the money.

La famille possède un piano à queue symétrique Gunther. Il est actuellement chez ma grand-mère, j'aimerais beaucoup le restaurer pour qu'il puisse avoir une nouvelle vie avec moi, car le piano est une de mes passions. Entre-temps, je joue sur un piano droit pour débutant depuis 10-11 ans et j'aimerais passer à ce Gunther. Pourquoi? Les Gunthers symétriques sont assez rares - aucun autre constructeur n'a jamais fabriqué de pianos à queue symétriques - et ils sont toujours un authentique produit belge. Cet instrument mérite certainement une mise à niveau.

Les pianos de Gunther sont connus pour être très qualitatifs. Pour l'anecdote, le piano a appartenu à mon arrière-arrière-oncle, et il est dans la famille depuis plusieurs générations. Cet instrument a aussi pour moi une valeur émotionnelle toute particulière.

Je voudrais faire mon propre projet personnel de cette restauration. Bien sûr, cela nécessite un peu de soutien.

J'aimerais faire restaurer le piano par quelqu'un (à Gand) qui fait encore tout lui-même et n'envoie pas les instruments en Pologne ou dans d'autres pays à bas salaires.

Lorsque ce projet sera terminé, j'envisage d'organiser éventuellement un concert avec lui, avec des amis également passionnés de musique, auquel tous ceux qui m'ont soutenu sont cordialement invités !

Je posterai aussi, si possible, des mises à jour de la restauration avec des photos.

Il est bien sûr possible que nous n'atteignions pas le prix cible. Ensuite, j'opterais pour une restauration de base (intérieur complet) et économiserais pour l'extérieur. Si la restauration de base n'est pas réalisée, je vous rembourserai l'argent.
