update: week one
In the first week of our fundraiser, we were able to collect € 1.225,00 in donations from 23 donors. Thank you all so much!
What remained after transaction costs and platform fees was € 1.128,18. This was then exchanged for the equivalent of $ 1.293, and distributed between the most vulnerable 13 families of:
• Eman (3 children)
• Nihad (4 children)
• Mustafa (3 children)
• Adham (4 children)
• Nawal (4 children)
Suja (4 children)
• Abdullah (8 children)
Nour (6 children)
Ibrahim (5 children)
Hanan (2 children)
• Aya (2 children)
• Hala (3 children)
Alaa (8 children)
We contacted all families by phone to confirm they actually received the money, which they did! While they were thankful, they emphasized they still very much need our help. $ 100 per family is not much, especially considering the current prices in Gaza.
So please keep sharing our fundraiser, and if you have the means to, please donate. Palestinians in Gaza rely on (our) mutual aid to afford food, medication and evacuation-to survive genocide.

Palestine Solidarity community in Groningen has been organizing fundraisers for families in Gaza for over a year. In this time, we have built trust, experience, and strong connections-ensuring that every euro raised goes directly to where it is most needed.
With the help of our dear comrade Alaa, whose family is on the ground in Gaza, we are now launching a dedicated mutual aid campaign for around twenty families in Rafah and Khan Younes.
Through trusted friends and local contacts, we are building a neighbourhood support network with a special focus on:
Families headed by mothers alone
Families where parents are injured or sick and unable to work
People who usually receive nothing from large food distributions and have no means to sustain their families
These are people who are often left behind. And yet, even in darkest hour, they share with each other and ensure that no one is left completely alone.

It is an honour to stand in solidarity with them. Why this campaign is urgent
The cost of medication and food is still incredibly high-in some cases, life-saving essentials are priced beyond what any family can afford.
A starvation campaign continues across Gaza, making the fight for survival more desperate each day.
Supporting local mutual aid networks has become a matter of life and death.
Transparency and trust
We believe that trust is built through openness. That's why:
You can attend our fundraising events in Groningen and see the solidarity work in person.
We provide regular updates showing exactly how donations are used, including stories, photos, and receipts whenever possible.
Every step of the process-from receiving funds to delivering aid- is documented and shared with supporters.
This means that when you give, you can see the real-life impact of your donation. How donations are used
Your contribution will go directly towards:
Urgent medical treatment for the sick and injured
Basic food supplies such as flour, rice, and cooking oil
Hygiene and baby products
Emergency support for families in crisis
Because we work with a small, trusted local network, we keep costs low and every euro reaches the people in need.
