De prijs van het leven is enorm
Adriana 12 jaar oud, enige king, heeft Neuroblastoma IV heeft gepersonaliseerde immunotherapie nodig om te leven.
Wanneer ons kind ziek is, voelen we een enorme machteloosheid.
We waken aan hun bed en vragen ons af of dit allemaal echt gebeurt.
We luisteren naar hun ademhaling en zoeken naar tekenen van hoop op hun gezicht.
We denken: als er ook maar een manier was waarop wij dit konden overnemen, dan zouden we zonder aarzeling hun plaats innemen.
Adriana is een 12-jarig meisje, het enige kind van een bescheiden gezin dat in een dorp in Roemenië woont. In juli 2023 kreeg zij de diagnose Neuroblastoom stadium IV (Hoog Risico).
Adriana is een heel positief kind en gaat dapper de strijd aan met deze oneerlijke ziekte. Ze geeft nooit op en wil van elk moment genieten. Haar ouders hebben al hun bezittingen verkocht om de behandelingen te kunnen betalen die nodig zijn om Adriana van kanker te genezen. Ze hebben de hoop nooit opgegeven en zoeken voortdurend naar nieuwe mogelijkheden voor genezing.
In 2023, vanwege de complexiteit van haar situatie, durfde geen enkele arts in Roemenië de operatie uit te voeren. Daarom moest ze in het buitenland geopereerd worden. De operatie vond plaats in Hongarije en was succesvol, gevolgd door chemotherapie. Helaas bleek na afloop van de chemotherapie dat er nog steeds actieve kankercellen aanwezig waren.
De volgende stap was een stamcelbehandeling in Roemenië in 2024. De resultaten hiervan waren gedeeltelijk positief, maar ook toen bleven er actieve kankercellen achter. Een derde poging, de MIBG-radiotherapie in Hongarije, slaagde erin om de situatie te stabiliseren. Maar ook nu zijn er nog steeds actieve kankercellen aanwezig.
De enige hoop die overblijft, is een behandeling in Barcelona. Het Sant Joan de Déu ziekenhuis heeft het dossier geanalyseerd en biedt een echte kans op succes via een nieuwe behandeling op basis van gepersonaliseerde immunotherapie.
Maar de kosten zijn enorm: 980.000 euro.
Daarom hebben Adriana en haar familie onze hulp hard nodig om haar leven – en dat van het enige kind dat haar ouders hebben – te proberen redden.

Adriana este o copilă foarte pozitivă și luptă cu curaj împotriva acestei boli nedrepte. Nu renunță niciodată și vrea să se bucure de fiecare moment. Părinții ei au vândut toate bunurile pentru a putea plăti tratamentele necesare pentru a o vindeca de cancer. Nu au renunțat niciodată la speranță și caută în permanență noi posibilități de vindecare.
În 2023, din cauza complexității situației sale, niciun medic din România nu a îndrăznit să o opereze. De aceea, a trebuit să fie operată în străinătate. Operația a avut loc în Ungaria și a fost un succes, urmată de chimioterapie. Din păcate, după terminarea chimioterapiei, s-a constatat că încă mai existau celule canceroase active.
Următorul pas a fost un tratament cu celule stem în România, în 2024. Rezultatele au fost parțial pozitive, dar și atunci au rămas celule canceroase active. O a treia încercare, radioterapia MIBG în Ungaria, a reușit să stabilizeze situația. Dar și acum există încă celule canceroase active.
Singura speranță rămasă este un tratament în Barcelona. Spitalul Sant Joan de Déu a analizat dosarul și oferă o șansă reală de succes printr-un nou tratament bazat pe imunoterapie personalizată.
Dar costurile sunt enorme: 980.000 de euro.
De aceea, Adriana și familia ei au nevoie urgentă de ajutorul nostru pentru a încerca să-i salveze viața – și pe cea a singurului copil al părinților ei.

Her parents have sold all their possessions to pay for the treatments needed to cure Adriana of cancer. They have never given up hope and are constantly looking for new possibilities for a cure.

The operation took place in Hungary and was successful, followed by chemotherapy. Unfortunately, after the chemotherapy, it was found that there were still active cancer cells present.
The next step was stem cell treatment in Romania in 2024. The results were partially positive, but even then, active cancer cells remained. A third attempt, MIBG radiotherapy in Hungary, succeeded in stabilising the situation. However, even now, active cancer cells are still present.
The only hope left is treatment in Barcelona. The Sant Joan de Déu hospital has analysed the case and offers a real chance of success through a new treatment based on personalised immunotherapy.
But the costs are enormous: 980,000 euros.
