Help rebuild the Dutch School in Nairobi after a devastating fire
Supporting recovery and continuity for the only Dutch day school in Africa and its 200 students
The Dutch School in Nairobi was founded in 1971 and has provided Dutch-language education to generations of children for more than 50 years. Today, the school serves approximately 200 students and is an anchor for the Dutch/Flamish-speaking community in Kenya.
In December 2025, a devastating fire completely destroyed the school’s main building, including classrooms, educational materials, furniture, laptops, and our extensive Dutch language book library.
The Dutch School Nairobi is seeking EUR 100,000 through this platform to support rebuilding the school and ensure continuity of education for our students. All donations will be used specifically for:
- Reconstruction of the main school building and infrastructure,
- Furnishing of fully equipped classrooms and educational material, and
- Rebuilding and restocking of the Dutch-language children’s library
We are currently developing plans to rebuild the school in the most cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and sustainable way.
The school is a non-profit organization managed by the parents of currently enrolled students. 100% of all donations received will be used directly for these rebuilding efforts.
The school community, teachers, and children would be immensely grateful for any and all contributions!
