Beste Inwoners,

De gemeente wil een AZC realiseren aan de Wiegerbruinlaan 8 
in Uithoorn voor een periode van 15 jaar. Het plan betreft een opvanglocatie voor 250 personen, met een mogelijke uitbreiding tot 275 plekken.

Wij zeggen nee tegen deze locatie en starten een juridische procedure om dit aan te vechten. Hiervoor hebben wij een gespecialiseerde advocaat in de arm genomen.

Wij maken ons grote zorgen over:

• De omvang van de locatie dit belemmert integratie 
• De gevolgen voor veiligheid en leefbaarheid
• De druk op voorzieningen 
• De toekomst van onze gemeente en wijken.
• Het COA die hier de regie voert en niet de gemeente.

Volgens ons houden de huidige plannen onvoldoende rekening met:

• De belangen van omwonenden
• Lokale ondernemers
• De kwetsbare omgeving waarin wij wonen en werken
• Bestaande uitdagingen binnen onze wijken

Ook ontbreekt een duidelijke onderbouwing waarom juist deze plek geschikt zou zijn voor opvang op deze schaal.

Gebrekkige communicatie vanuit de gemeente

• Er is weinig tot geen gelegenheid geweest om mee te denken
• Bewoners konden nauwelijks vragen stellen of zorgen delen
• Dit wekt het gevoel dat besluiten worden genomen zonder oog voor de directe impact op onze leefomgeving

Gevolgen voor woningen en woningmarkt

• Waardedaling van onze woningen
• Toenemende druk op de toch al schaarse woningmarkt

Aangezien het AZC naar verwachting 15 jaar blijft, zijn de gevolgen langdurig.
Naar schatting zullen er dan 1500-2500 asielzoekers vanuit deze locatie een huis krijgen.

Juridische stappen

Wij twijfelen aan de zorgvuldigheid van de besluitvorming en vinden het daarom noodzakelijk dat deze juridisch wordt getoetst.
Een dergelijk traject met de advocaat brengt substantiële kosten met zich mee: €15.000 tot €20.000.

Mocht er na afloop geld overblijven, dan doneren wij dit aan een goed doel binnen de gemeente Uithoorn.

Dear Residents,

The municipality intends to establish an asylum seekers’ centre (AZC) at

Wiegerbruinlaan 8 in Uithoorn for a period of 15 years. The plan concerns a reception facility for 250 people, with a possible expansion to 275 places.

We say no to this location, and we are starting a legal procedure to challenge this decision. For this, we have engaged a specialised lawyer.

We are deeply concerned about:

• The scale of the location, which hinders integration

• The impact on safety and liveability

• The pressure on local facilities

• The future of our municipality and neighbourhoods

• The fact that the COA will be in control rather than the municipality

We believe the current plans do not sufficiently take into account:

• The interests of local residents

• Local businesses

• The vulnerable environment in which we live and work

• Existing challenges within our neighbourhoods

Furthermore, a clear justification for why this specific location is suitable for a reception centre of this size is missing.

Lack of communication from the municipality

• There has been little to no opportunity to participate in the decision-making

• Residents had hardly any chance to ask questions or express concerns

• This creates the impression that decisions are being made without consideration for the direct impact on our living environment

Consequences for housing and the housing market

• A decrease in the value of our homes

• Increasing pressure on the already scarce housing supply

Since the AZC is expected to remain for 15 years, the consequences will be long-term.

It is estimated that between 1,500 and 2,500 asylum seekers from this location will be allocated housing during that period.

Legal steps

We have doubts about the care with which the decision has been made and therefore find it necessary to have this assessed legally.

Such a process with the lawyer involves substantial costs: €15,000 to €20,000.

For this entire process, we kindly ask for your support.

Every contribution, large or small, helps us enormously.

If there is any money left after the process, we will donate it to a charitable cause within the municipality of Uithoorn.
