What Is Al-Yasmeen Camp?
Al-Yasmeen Camp is home to 153 families displaced from Rafah—a total of 875 people—living in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip. Since their displacement in 2024, these families have continued to face the hardships of life far from their homes, struggling to meet even their most basic needs.
Among the camp’s residents are 43 children under the age of three, 25 widows, 55 elderly people, 65 adolescent girls, and 81 people living with chronic illnesses. These numbers reflect daily needs for food, care, medicine, and protection.
Behind every tent is a family trying to preserve its life and dignity: children who need safety and education, elderly people who need care, and people living with illness or disabilities whose families struggle to provide for their daily needs.
We are a group of volunteers within the camp. We live alongside these families and know their needs firsthand. We launched this campaign to turn your support into tangible assistance, giving priority to those who need it most.
How Will Your Donation Help?
1. Tent Repairs — Shelter from the Rain and Cold
We will begin by repairing tents, with an estimated budget of €2,275.
When a tent is a family’s only shelter, leaking rainwater and bitter cold become a worry for everyone inside.
We will use these funds to repair the tents of the families most in need and provide materials to help reduce water leaks and improve protection from the weather. Your contribution helps a family protect the place where they sleep, their clothing, and what remains of their belongings, giving them a greater sense of security inside their tent.
2. Food Parcels — Easing a Family’s Daily Burden
Next, we will provide 25 food parcels, with a total budget of €975 and an estimated cost of €39 per parcel.
Families struggle to obtain food, particularly as prices rise and resources remain limited. We will distribute these parcels to the families most in need, taking their circumstances and household size into account.
Every parcel that reaches a family eases part of the burden of putting food on the table and helps provide essential food for their children.
3. Hot Meals — Care That Reaches Those Who Need It
We plan to provide 55 hot meals, with an estimated budget of €825 and a cost of €15 per meal.
Preparing food inside a tent can be difficult, especially for elderly people, people with disabilities, and their families.
We aim to prepare and distribute hot meals to those who need this support, with suitable nutritious extras where available, such as fruit, yoghurt, and juice.
Your contribution could become a meal delivered to someone who struggles to prepare their own food, easing some of the day’s strain for them and their family.
4. Two Water Distribution Drives — An Essential Need for Every Family
We will carry out two water distribution drives, with a total budget of €430.
Families need water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene. Securing it is a burden they face day after day.
We will use these funds to provide safe drinking water and coordinate its distribution according to needs and the resources available. Your support helps families access an essential resource their lives depend on every day.
5. Stationery for 100 Children — A Chance to Keep Learning
We will allocate approximately €88 to provide basic stationery for 100 children.
Within the camp, there is a modest learning space where children try to continue their education despite the hardships of displacement. We plan to provide supplies that help them follow their lessons, as the budget and local prices allow.
A notebook and a pen can give a child room to learn and express themselves, encouraging them to hold on to their education and their dreams.
6. Personal Care Parcels for Adolescent Girls — Health, Comfort, and Privacy
We plan to provide 55 personal care parcels for adolescent girls, with an estimated budget of €2,405.88.
Displacement and limited resources can make it difficult for families to provide the hygiene and personal care supplies adolescent girls need.
We will use these funds to provide parcels suited to their needs and distribute them in a way that respects their privacy. This assistance provides essentials for their health and comfort while easing the burden on their families.
All amounts listed are estimates and will be reviewed according to prices and exchange rates at the time of implementation.
Additional Needs We Hope to Support
If additional funding becomes available, we aim to provide clothing for adolescents and help secure medicines, health supplies, and mobility aids for people with disabilities. We will share the budgets for these initiatives before allocating funds to them.
How Will We Deliver the Aid?
Our first priority will be repairing tents. We will then carry out the remaining initiatives according to the funds available and the families’ actual needs. If we do not reach the full fundraising target, we will direct the funds raised towards the most urgent priorities and explain what we have been able to deliver.
We will work to document purchases and distributions and share updates on the assistance provided, while protecting the families’ dignity and privacy.
