Irfanullah was 15 jaar, toen hij - op zijn eentje - Afghanistan ontvluchtte. Hij kwam in België aan op 1 augustus 2022 en hij werd erkend als politieke vluchteling op 30 augustus 2023. Ikzelf ben Irfanullah's voogd (op vrijwillige basis) en help hem zo goed ik kan. Hij is een vriendelijke en intelligente jongen die een goede kans heeft om in België een goed leven uit te bouwen.
Er is één ding dat hem heel erg belast. Irfanullah's mama en 3 zussen, Crystal, Marwa en Hadia, zijn - alleen - achtergebleven in Afghanistan.
Ik weet niet of iemand zich kan voorstellen wat het betekent om als vrouw alleen te moeten overleven in Afghanistan. Vrouwen mogen zich amper bewegen in het openbaar zonder mannelijke begeleiding, en hun mama kan ook niet werken. De dochters lopen het risico verplicht te trouwen met een onbekende en levenslang een slaafs bestaan te leiden. Hun mama is bovendien van de Hazara-minderheid, wat een bijkomende factor van discriminatie betekent.
Gelukkig heeft een minderjarige die erkend wordt als politieke vluchteling recht op familiehereniging. Dat wil zeggen dat hij in principe zijn familie naar België mag laten overkomen. Dit is weliswaar een recht, maar het is heel erg moeilijk en kostelijk.
Deze vrouwen zijn er bijna. Hun visa voor België zijn goedgekeurd op voorwaarde van een positieve DNA-test die aantoont dat ze wel degelijk familie zijn van Irfanullah. Voor de bloedafname moesten ze zich begeven naar de Belgische ambassade in Islamabad, Pakistan. Dit is vorige maandag, 16 december, gebeurd. Ze zijn er dus bijna, maar hebben nu dringend hulp nodig.
De familie is uitgeput, en het geld is op. Vandaar deze steunactie. Ik ben op zoek naar 5.500 euro:
- 3.000 euro, zodat de vrouwen nog een drietal maanden kunnen overleven in Pakistan (1.000 euro per maand).
- 2.500 euro voor vliegtuigtickets van Islamabad naar Brussel (à rato van 600 euro per persoon).

Irfanullah was 15 years old when he fled Afghanistan alone. He arrived in Belgium on August 1, 2022, and was recognized as a political refugee on August 30, 2023. I am Irfanullah's guardian (on a voluntary basis) and help him as best I can. He is a kind and intelligent boy with a good chance of building a decent life in Belgium.
There is one thing that deeply burdens him. Irfanullah's mother and 3 sisters, Crystal, Marwa, and Hadia, were left behind in Afghanistan alone.
I don't know if anyone can imagine what it means to survive as a woman alone in Afghanistan. Women can hardly move in public without male accompaniment, and his mother cannot work. The daughters risk being forced into marriage with a stranger and living a lifetime of servitude. Moreover, the mother belongs to the Hazara minority, which adds an additional layer of discrimination.
Fortunately, a minor recognized as a political refugee has the right to family reunification. This means that, in principle, he is allowed to bring his family to Belgium. However, while this is a right, it is extremely difficult and costly.
These women are close. Their visas for Belgium have been approved on the condition of a positive DNA test proving they are indeed Irfanullah's family. For the blood test, they had to travel to the Belgian embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. This happened last Monday, December 16. So they are almost there but urgently need help now.
The family is exhausted, and the money has run out.
Hence this support initiative. I am looking for €5,500.
- €3,000 so the women can survive for about three more months in Pakistan (€1,000 per month).
- €2,500 for plane tickets from Islamabad to Brussels (at €600 per person).

Irfanullah avait 15 ans lorsqu’il a fui l’Afghanistan, seul. Il est arrivé en Belgique le 1er août 2022 et a été reconnu comme réfugié politique le 30 août 2023. Je suis le tuteur d’Irfanullah (à titre volontaire) et je l’aide du mieux que je peux. C’est un garçon aimable et intelligent qui a de bonnes chances de construire une vie réussie en Belgique.
Mais une chose pèse énormément sur ses épaules : la situation de sa maman et de ses trois sœurs, Crystal, Marwa et Hadia, qui sont restées seules en Afghanistan.
Je ne sais pas si quelqu’un peut imaginer ce que cela signifie de devoir survivre seule, en tant que femme, en Afghanistan. Les femmes ne peuvent presque pas se déplacer en public sans un accompagnement masculin, et la maman ne peut pas travailler. Les filles risquent d’être contraintes à un mariage forcé avec un inconnu et de vivre une vie d’esclavage. La maman, en plus, appartient à la minorité Hazara, ce qui constitue un facteur supplémentaire de discrimination.
Heureusement, un mineur reconnu comme réfugié politique a le droit au regroupement familial. Cela signifie qu’il peut, en principe, faire venir sa famille en Belgique. Toutefois, ce droit est très difficile à exercer et extrêmement coûteux.
Ces femmes sont presque là. Leurs visas pour la Belgique ont été approuvés, à condition qu’un test ADN confirme qu’elles sont bien la famille d’Irfanullah. Pour effectuer les prélèvements sanguins, elles ont dû se rendre à l’ambassade belge d’Islamabad, au Pakistan. Cela a eu lieu ce lundi 16 décembre. Elles sont donc proches du but, mais ont maintenant un besoin urgent d’aide.
La famille est épuisée, et l’argent manque cruellement. C’est pourquoi j’organise cette campagne de soutien. Je cherche à réunir 5 500 euros :
- 3 000 euros pour que les femmes puissent survivre encore environ trois mois au Pakistan (1 000 euros par mois).
- 2 500 euros pour les billets d’avion d’Islamabad à Bruxelles (à raison de 600 euros par personne).
