Als arts van Marokkaanse afkomst ben ik persoonlijk diep geraakt door de aardbeving die plaatsgevonden heeft in Marokko. Het drama komt tastbaar dichtbij wanneer je familie, vrienden en kennissen ter plaatse hebt.
De impact is immens. Naast de vele duizenden doden zijn meer dan 300.000 mensen zwaar getroffen en ontberen ze toegang tot essentiële basisvoorzieningen. Volgens UNICEF gaat het daarbij om ongeveer 100.000 kinderen! Nog altijd zijn er dorpen in Marokko waar nauwelijks noodhulp aanwezig is.
Naast die noodhulp zal er echter ook veel steun nodig zijn voor een meer structurele wederopbouw. In het gebied van het Atlasgebergte zijn volgens UNICEF 580 scholen vernietigd, evenals basisinfrastructuur voor gezondheidszorg.
Wij willen steun inzamelen voor die structurele heropbouw in de komende maanden en jaren, waarbij we vooral focussen op de heropbouw van scholen. Het onderwijs is immers één van de belangrijkste zaken om de kinderen en jongeren van dit ontoegankelijke en economisch achtergestelde gebied van Marokko een toekomstperspectief te bieden.
Het doel is om met de ingezamelde fondsen rechtstreeks de initiatieven ter plaatse te helpen, zodat we zeker zijn dat de hulp correct besteed wordt.
Alle beetjes helpen! Iedereen draagt zijn of haar steentje bij naar eigen goeddunken en vermogen. Zelfs het kleinste bedrag kan een groot verschil maken.

En tant que médecin d'origine marocaine, j'ai été profondément touché par le tremblement de terre survenu au Maroc. Le drame devient tangible lorsque vous avez de la famille, des amis et des connaissances sur place.
L’impact est immense. Outre les milliers de décès, plus de 300 000 personnes ont été gravement touchées et n’ont pas accès aux services de base essentiels. Selon l'UNICEF, cela concerne environ 100 000 enfants ! Il existe encore des villages au Maroc où il n’y a pratiquement aucune aide d’urgence disponible.
Toutefois, outre cette aide d’urgence, un soutien important sera également nécessaire pour une reconstruction plus structurelle. Dans la région des montagnes de l'Atlas, 580 écoles ont été détruites, ainsi que les infrastructures de santé de base, selon l'UNICEF.
Nous souhaitons soutenir cette restauration structurelle dans les mois et années à venir, avec un accent particulier sur la reconstruction des écoles. Après tout, l’éducation est l’une des choses les plus importantes pour offrir une perspective d’avenir aux enfants et aux jeunes de cette région inaccessible et économiquement défavorisée du Maroc.
L'objectif est d'aider directement les initiatives sur le terrain avec les fonds récoltés, afin d'être sûr que l'aide est correctement dépensée.
Chaque petit geste compte! Chacun contribue selon sa propre discrétion et ses capacités. Même le plus petit montant peut faire une grande différence.

As a physician of Moroccan descent, I was personally deeply affected by the earthquake that took place in Morocco. The tragedy comes tangibly close when you have family, friends and acquaintances on the ground.
The impact is immense. In addition to the many thousands of deaths, more than 300,000 people have been severely affected and lack access to essential basic services. According to UNICEF, this includes about 100,000 children! There are still villages in Morocco where hardly any emergency aid is available.
In addition to that emergency aid, however, much support will be needed for more structural reconstruction. In the Atlas Mountains region, according to UNICEF, 580 schools have been destroyed, as well as basic health care infrastructure.
We want to raise support for that structural reconstruction in the coming months and years, focusing especially on rebuilding schools. After all, education is one of the most important things to provide future prospects for the children and youth of this inaccessible and economically disadvantaged area of Morocco.
The goal is to use the funds raised to directly help the initiatives on the ground, so that we can be sure that the aid is spent correctly.
Every little bit helps! Everyone contributes according to his or her discretion and ability. Even the smallest amount can make a big difference.

Como médico de ascendencia marroquí, el terremoto que tuvo lugar en Marruecos me afectó profundamente. La tragedia se hace tangiblemente cercana cuando tienes familiares, amigos y conocidos sobre el terreno.
El impacto es inmenso. Además de los muchos miles de muertos, más de 300.000 personas se han visto gravemente afectadas y carecen de acceso a los servicios básicos. Según UNICEF, ¡entre ellas hay unos 100.000 niños! Todavía hay pueblos en Marruecos donde apenas se dispone de ayuda de emergencia.
Sin embargo, además de esa ayuda de emergencia, se necesitará mucho apoyo para una reconstrucción más estructural. En la región del Atlas, según UNICEF, han quedado destruidas 580 escuelas, así como infraestructuras sanitarias básicas.
Queremos conseguir apoyo para esa reconstrucción estructural en los próximos meses y años, centrándonos especialmente en la reconstrucción de escuelas. Al fin y al cabo, la educación es una de las cosas más importantes para ofrecer perspectivas de futuro a los niños y jóvenes de esta zona inaccesible y económicamente desfavorecida de Marruecos.
El objetivo es utilizar los fondos recaudados para ayudar directamente a las iniciativas sobre el terreno, de modo que podamos estar seguros de que la ayuda se gasta correctamente.
Cada granito de arena ayuda! Cada uno contribuye según su criterio y capacidad. Incluso la cantidad más pequeña puede marcar una gran diferencia.
