my name is Tiffany and I am a nurse based in Belgium.

Through this campaign, I want to support a family in the Philippines who are facing overwhelming medical expenses and an extremely difficult situation.

The young woman I want to help is 21 years old. She was urgently admitted to the hospital due to a severe stomach ulcer that had perforated her stomach. She was in critical condition and was vomiting blood. Unfortunately, the surgery was only performed after her family was able to pay the full amount upfront.

To save her life, her niece sold her motorbike and had to take out a loan to cover the hospital costs. After the surgery, things seemed to improve briefly. However, just one week later, she suffered a stroke, likely due to a combination of medication and extreme stress.

She lost feeling on one side of her body and required another urgent brain surgery to remove the blood clot that caused the stroke. Once again, her family faced impossible choices: her niece sold her second motorbike and even had to pawn her house to afford the surgery.

Today, the family is living in severe financial uncertainty. Her niece works day and night with barely any sleep to support everyone, while also caring for her own children.

The young woman now urgently needs physical therapy to relearn how to walk and use her arm. In addition, she requires ongoing medication to prevent further complications.
