Dit is Ollie, onze Nova Scottia Duck Tolling Retriever, 7 maanden oud. Hij werd gediagnosticeerd met heupdysplasie.
Dit is Ollie. Hij is 7 maanden oud, de grootste vriend van mijn mama, mijn zus en mezelf. Hij is een lieve speelvogel. Het kwispelen, achter de bal aanlopen, dollen en rollen in de tuin is sinds enkele weken heel wat minder.
Vorige week kregen we te horen dat hij aan beide kanten een ernstige vorm van heupdysplasie heeft. Hij krijgt momenteel drie pijnstillers per dag. Dit is tijdelijk een oplossing om de pijn voorlopig te verminderen. Dit in afwachting van een zware operatie waarbij er heupprotheses geplaatst zullen worden. Deze operatie zou ervoor zorgen dat hij 95% van zijn mobiliteit terug krijgt.
Ik, Warre (16 jaar) en mijn zus, Gitte (14 jaar) houden zeer veel van Ollie. Het laatste dat we willen is Ollie laten inslapen. Hij heeft nog een heel leven voor zich maar dat kan enkel wanneer we hem laten opereren.
De behandelingen vooraf (intensieve fysiotherapie) en de operatie zullen maar liefst minimaal €12 000 kosten.

Last week we were told that he has severe hip dysplasia on both sides. He is currently receiving three painkillers a day. This is a temporary solution to reduce the pain for the time being. This is in anticipation of major surgery where hip replacements will be placed. This surgery would allow him to regain 95% of his mobility.
I, Warre (16 years old) and my sister, Gitte (14 years old) love Ollie very much. The last thing we want is to put Ollie to sleep. He still has a whole life ahead of him but that is only possible when we have him operated on.
