My name is Yahya, and I come from a family of sixteen. We live in the Gaza Strip, specifically in the southern city of Rafah.

I am the eldest of five brothers (Mohammed, Khaled, Youssef, Ahmed, and Mahmoud). We also have one sister named Nour, and of course, my parents, who have disabilities. My father is blind in one eye and has severe vision impairment in the other, and my mother is deaf.

I am married and have two sons (Ibrahim and Ezz El-Din). Ezz El-Din was born on February 23, 2026, and is still a baby.

My brother Mohammed is also married, but he doesn't have children yet.  I am doing my best to take care of all of my 16 family members, including my fathers sisters, and my aunt's young orphaned boy.

I was working as an imam in a mosque in Rafah, but after the war broke out, Israeli forces evacuated the city and demolished my family's house and my own house, which I had finished building two months before the war, and I lost my job.

I never imagined I would one day have to ask anyone for help. My family and I were always the ones who offered assistance to others, even in the most difficult circumstances. This was evident in how we cared for the displaced people who arrived to our city from northern Gaza at the beginning of the war.

But when my family and I became displaced ourselves, losing our sources of income and our savings due to the exorbitant expenses and the cost of repeatedly moving from place to place and setting up shelters, I was forced to launch a fundraising campaign.

The responsibility of supporting all my family members now rests on my shoulders, and I need to provide for their needs (food, baby formula, medicine, clothing, hygiene supplies, tent repairs, and kitchen equipment) because of our precarious living conditions resulting from the war on my country, Gaza.
