A Father’s Plea: Help Me Rebuild My Medicine Shop and My Children’s Future

Dear Brothers, Sisters and Friends,

My name is Md Rokib Ahmed, a father of three children from Bangladesh. I am going through a very difficult financial situation, but I am not asking for lifelong support. I am asking for one opportunity to rebuild my existing livelihood, repay my debts and become self-dependent again.

My medicine shop already exists — but I cannot afford to restock it

I have a small medicine shop, which is the main source of income for my family. Unfortunately, because of my financial difficulties, I cannot afford enough medicine stock.

Customers come to my shop looking for medicines, but many times I cannot provide what they need because my stock is very limited.

At present, my monthly sales are only around BDT 6,000, while my monthly bank and NGO loan repayments are approximately BDT 50,000. This has made it extremely difficult to keep the shop stocked while also supporting my family.

Why I am raising €10,000

I am raising €10,000 to help me rebuild my livelihood and overcome the immediate financial pressure that has left my family struggling.

If the full amount is raised, I plan to use it approximately as follows:

€4,000 — Medicine shop working capital
To purchase essential medicine stock and restore the shop so that I can serve customers properly and rebuild regular sales.

€3,000 — Outstanding bank and NGO loan obligations
To reduce the financial pressure from the loans and repayments that are currently far beyond what my small shop income can support.

€2,000 — Food, household needs and my children's education
To help cover essential family expenses and restore educational support for my children while I work to rebuild my income.

€1,000 — Shop operating and emergency costs
For necessary shop expenses, transportation, additional working needs and unexpected urgent family expenses during the recovery period.

If I receive less than the full goal, I will prioritize medicine stock and the most urgent financial needs first.

How my family reached this situation

My parents both suffered serious brain strokes and sadly passed away. During their treatment, I had to borrow money from banks, NGOs and other sources. Despite everything I could do, I could not save them, and the financial obligations from those loans remained.

Today, I am struggling to manage those repayments while also paying for food, household necessities and my children's education.

My two older children have already missed private tutoring for the past two months because I could not afford the fees.

I want to become self-dependent again

My goal is not to depend on donations forever.

My shop already exists. What I need is the opportunity to restore its stock, serve customers again and rebuild a stable income through my own work.

If I can get the shop functioning properly again, I hope to gradually increase sales, meet my family's needs and manage my financial obligations through my own income.
