Food packages for More Africa families
Providing care packages ensures that every family can celebrate Eid with dignity, regardless of their financial situation.
LET'S DONATE CARE PACKAGES!
Each of More Africa's families receives a care package with essentials for both daily life and learning:
- Clothing for the children
- Educational materials
- Rice, flour & beans
- Cooking oil, sugar & dates
One package is 10 EURO. We need around 65 packages to serve all our families and staff. This makes a total of 1300 EUR.
Eid marks the end of Ramadan and is a time of joy, generosity, and togetherness. Providing care packages ensures that every family can celebrate Eid with dignity, regardless of their financial situation.
After a month of fasting, expenses increase: special meals, visitors, clothing for children, and celebrations.
Families caring for children with disabilities often face additional financial pressure. Care packages ease this burden at a critical moment.
More Africa provides food packages because they directly support our mission of care, inclusion, and dignity for children with disabilities and their families in Zanzibar.
1. Because learning and care start with basic needs
Many of the children we support come from families facing financial insecurity. When food is uncertain, education, therapy, and development become secondary. Care packages help stabilize families so children can continue learning and growing.
2. Because families carry a heavy weight
Caring for a child with a disability often means higher costs and fewer income opportunities. Care & food support reduces daily pressure and allows caregivers to focus on their child’s wellbeing rather than survival.
3. Because inclusion goes beyond the classroom
More Africa’s work is not only about education. It’s about belonging in the community. Providing food packages, especially during important moments like Eid, ensures families are not left out of cultural and social celebrations.
4. Because dignity matters
We don’t provide care packages as charity, but as support with respect. Care packages help families maintain dignity and pride, particularly during festive times when everyone should be able to celebrate.
5. Because small support creates big impact
A care package can mean fewer skipped meals, less stress at home, and better focus and attendance at school.
These small interventions have long-term effects on a child’s development.
