A friend of ours, Ibrahim, lives in Amlougui in the region of Setti Fatma in the High Atlas of Morocco at a height of 1800 meters.

It is a beautiful area and the people are very friendly and hospitable. They can earn bread at Ibrahim's home because he earns money as a guide and speaks English. This is not the case for most people there. The Berbers here grow some vegetables themselves and let their goats graze until they are big enough to trade in the market.

The corona time was very difficult overthere. We asked Ibrahim what we can help them with. At first we thought of all the good winter clothing that we can collect in the Netherlands, which they can put to good use there. However, the shipping costs turned out to be high.

Day temperatures are between 0 oC and 10 oC in winter, the schools don´t have radiators, and it can snow. The children are thus at school in the cold in winters. We decided to collect money with which Ibrahim can buy warm clothes and distribute them to the schoolgoing kids in the village Amlougui. For 30 euros you can donate one kid a warm sweater and pants. For 60 euros you can donate two kids a warm sweater and pants etcetera. It is of course possible to donate a different amount as well. The money that is donated goes directly to the clothes for the kids, additional costs are funded by ourselves.

From the already collected 740 euros, we have provided the first 40 children (4 classes) of the Amlougui school with warm clothes! There are 20 children left on this school who did not receive clothes yet.

We grant these people as much warmth as we received and hope that you want to help by donating and sharing our initiative.

Deze steunactie is succesvol afgerond.

Een vriend van ons, Ibrahim, woont in Amlougui in het gebied Setti Fatma in de Hoge Atlas van Marokko op 1800 meter hoogte.

Geweldig mooi is het er en de mensen zijn erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. Bij Ibrahim thuis kunnen ze goed eten omdat hij als gids geld verdient en Engels spreekt. Dat geldt voor de meeste mensen daar niet. De bergbewoners verbouwen zelf wat groenten en laten hun geiten grazen tot ze groot genoeg zijn om te verhandelen op de markt.

De corona tijd was erg moeilijk daar. We hebben Ibrahim gevraagd waar we ze mee kunnen helpen. Eerst dachten we aan al die goede winterkleding die we in Nederland kunnen verzamelen, die ze daar goed kunnen gebruiken. Echter bleken de verzendkosten hoog te zijn.

Het is er overdag in de winter tussen de 0 oC en 10 oC, de scholen hebben geen verwarming en het kan er sneeuwen. De kinderen zitten dus in de kou op school in de winter. We hebben bedacht om geld te verzamelen waarmee Ibrahim warme kleding terplekke kan kopen en het uit kan delen aan de schoolgaande kinderen in het dorp Amlougui. Voor 30 euro geeft u een kind een warme trui en broek. Voor 60 euro geeft u twee kinderen een warme trui en broek etcetera. Het is natuurlijk ook mogelijk om een zelf gekozen bedrag te doneren. Het gedoneerde bedrag gaat direct naar de kleding voor de kinderen, de bijkomende kosten bekostigen wij zelf.

Van de al opgehaalde 740 euro zijn de eerste 40 kinderen (4 schoolklassen) op de Amlougui school voorzien van warme kleding! Op deze school zitten nog 20 kinderen die nog niet van kleding zijn voorzien.

We gunnen deze mensen net zoveel warmte als waarmee wij zijn ontvangen en hopen dat u mee wilt helpen door te doneren en dit project te delen.

Via Nieuws houden we jullie op de hoogte hoe de actie loopt. Dan ziet u wat van de donaties is gekocht.

Het heeft even geduurd maar de warme kleding voor de tweede en laatste groep kinderen van de Amlougui school zijn uitgedeeld. We willen iedereen ontzettend bedanken, samen hebben we alle schoolgaande kinderen kunnen voorzien van warme kleren! ??

De koudere maanden zijn weer aangebroken en wij gaan weer actief verder met het inzamelen van geld voor kleding voor de kinderen op de Amlougui school. Er zijn nog 20 kinderen niet voorzien van warme kleding waarvoor we nog rond de €285 op willen halen. Donaties zijn zeer welkom.
Dus heb je de energie bonus zelf niet hard nodig? Dan is dit een uitstekende bestemming en kunnen we de schoolgaande kinderen in Amlougui binnenkort blij maken met warme kleding!

Voor de 20 kinderen op de Amlougui school die nog geen warme kleding ontvangen hebben is de afgelopen periode nog 285 euro opgehaald. Dank hiervoor!
Aangezien de lente is aangebroken en het nu weer warmer is in de Hoge Atlas, gaan wij weer actief verder met het inzamelen van het overige bedrag (voorafgaand en) in de koudere maanden. In de tussentijd zijn donaties nog steeds zeer welkom. Wij verwachten aankomende winter het benodigde bedrag op te halen om de volle 2e ronde kinderen op de school van warme kleding te voorzien.

Since spring has arrived and it is getting warmer in the High Atlas, we will continue to actively collect the last amount (prior to and) in the colder months. In the meantime, donations are still very welcome. We expect to collect the last bit of money coming winter, and to provide the full 2nd round of children at the school with warm clothes.

Wij zijn erg blij en dankbaar om te zien dat donaties voor de overige 20 kinderen nog binnen komen. We blijven bedrijven, organisaties, redacties, religieuze instellingen etc. contacten om het overige bedrag op te halen. Ook zijn we een samenwerking gestart met Ayaan Gallery in Engeland. Zij verkopen onder andere Berberse tapijten. Zij doen nu een uitverkoop van Berberse tapijten waarbij 20% van de prijs van elk verkocht tapijt in februari gedoneerd wordt aan onze steunactie! We are very happy and grateful to see donations for the remaining 20 children coming in. We continue to contact companies, organisations, religious institutions etc. to collect the remaining amount of money. In addition, we started a collaboration with Ayaan Gallery (UK). Wij zijn blij jullie te vertellen dat de eerste 40 kinderen (4 schoolklassen) op de Amlougui school voorzien zijn van warme kleding! :) De foto's hiervan zijn nu te vinden op de pagina. Wij hebben besloten de schoenen weg te laten zodat we meer kinderen van een warme trui en broek konden voorzien van de al opgehaalde 740 euro. Er zijn nog 20 kinderen op deze school die nog niet voorzien zijn van kleding. We doen ons best nog zo veel mogelijk geld op te halen voor deze kinderen.
Namens de kinderen van de Amlougui school willen we jullie nogmaals hartelijk bedanken voor jullie bijdrage!!

Het waren mooie feestdagen met enkele fijne donaties en steunbetuigingen. Hiervoor onze dank ❤️ namens de kinderen uit Amlougui. Zij gaan het eerst kleding ontvangen uit de donaties. Het is puzzelen omdat er heel veel kinderen in het gebied wonen en er meer nodig is om ieder kind te kunnen voorzien van warme kleding. Daarom proberen we samen met Ibrahim en zijn organisatie 'Open Hands for Solidarity' het kopen van de kleding zo effectief mogelijk te plannen.
Ondertussen gaan we door met het delen van onze actie. Merel heeft contact opgenomen met Nederlandse, Marokkaanse en Europese organisaties en bedrijven om de actie onder meer mensen te delen. Wordt vervolgd...

It was a good Christmas with some great donations and support messages. Much thanks for this ❤️ on behalf of the children from Amlougui village. They will be the first to receive clothing from the donations. We're still puzzling because there are many children in the villages, and more is needed to provide every child with warm clothes. That is why, together with Ibrahim and his organization 'Open Hands for Solidarity', we are now trying to plan the purchase of the clothing as effectively as possible.
In the meantime, we continue to share our initiative. Merel has contacted Dutch, Moroccan and European organizations and companies to share the project among more people. To be continued..
